I can't get Pulse on any of my reasonable-powered machines to run without skipping problems. It's awful. This happens directly out-of-the-box on recent Karmic builds. You can spend hours trying to troubleshoot it , with what's essentially outdated forum posts, or you can simply remove it and be completely fixed.
